Today’s Style – Made in Britain – Kate Moss Vogue

Vogue December edition arrived on my doorstep last night! Chuffed

Indulging in the pages and absorbing its content for all my ideas for Christmas style, fashion, food and fun!

This December Vogue choose Kate Moss as their cover girl – and what a British Icon she is.

Many people have their opinions on Kate Moss: from her drug use, views on eating, colourful boyfriends and her lifestyle in general but one thing you cannot deny her – she is an Icon! Voted as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world – she should celebrate her influence rather than her vices.

For her 40th birthday she is going to bare all for Playboy – impressive. To have the confidence and love of her body to do this – then fair play maybe we should all take a leaf out of her book to celebrate our bodies. As a British woman to be selected to celebrate the first magazine of its kind 60th birthday – well done. I am a supporter of nakedness – we were born naked and we should not be ashamed of our bodies. This is not to say bare all every day of your life – but when you can celebrate tastefully and liberate yourself – then embrace the skin you live in!

She has been the face of fashion for the world since her she was spotted at 16 – every year since she has featured in style features and remains this idol for fashionista’s around the world.

Freezing Fitness Friday

As a working girl it is HARD  to get in a gym session every day of the week. We are supposed to walk on average 10,000 steps a day – if you have a pedometer this is actually quite a lot! (and anyone who works outside of London who is not forced to use public transport – even more so!)

I am a huge fan of incorporating exercise into your daily lifestyle and part of this I have swapped my tube ride to work – with a walk.

1

My commute is 4 miles (including stopping into carter lane coffee house to see my Italian friends – who make the best coffee in St.Pauls) – and that has given me a 300 calorie deficit before I have barely even switched on!

Yes it is freezing but the fresh air combined with the sunshine – it  becomes a winning combination. I listen to TED radio hour (perfect timing for my walk). I make sure I have my sunnies, ear warmth and a decent pair of gloves 🙂3

It saves on the money, its saves on the frustration and it also saves being stuck under someone’s armpit for the morning commute – definitely not the best way to start the day!

So go on – get up – whack on some good walking shoes/trainers and march that booty to work – get your 10,000 steps, healthy glow, peace of mind and save those pennies!

This Winter the Parka is BACK! From low price range to the highest you can find the perfect number to keep you toastie on your walk to work! Especially those neck’s and ears!

Head to Zara, ASOS and Uniqlo – who have some perfect styles for this season.

All Seeing Eye A/W 2013

The Eye of Providence (or the all-seeing eye of God) is a symbol showing an eye often surrounded by rays of light. It is interpreted as representing the eye of God watching over humankind.

The imagery of an all-seeing eye can be traced back to Egyptian mythology and the Eye of Horus. Buddhist texts like the Mahaparinibbana Sutta also refer to Buddha’s the “Eye of the World”.

However, this season the all-seeing eye is being used as a style symbol for A/W 2013.

Kenzo has bought out a range with the symbol used in various styles and other fashion houses have followed suit. http://www.matchesfashion.com/search?text=lotus+eye&type=Womens

I have also found the high street version – H&M – and indulged in running around my flat in matching leggings and top with my geek chic glasses – taking the opportunity to accessorize all the eyes.

Simple, eye-catching and full of historythis is definitely a style I will be pairing up with a pair of black jeans and some ankle high boots for Autumn and Winter 2013!
